Okay, lets be honest. All bereaved parents are INSPIRATIONAL!
We have experienced the greatest heartache and are still breathing. I am always amazed at how the people in this community of bereaved parents are able to use their experience of pain and sorrow to transform their grief into something else, something different. They are able to transform grief into a legacy of love and healing; through the books they write, organizations they create, and the support they provide for other grieving parents in the community. All of this is done in the name of their child gone to soon. It is a legacy of pure love.
If you are a bereaved parent that has used your grief as a catalyst to help others heal, I want to hear your story. Maybe you wrote a book about your healing journey, or maybe you started an organization that provides a special item to parents to help them in their time of sorrow, like a blanket, memory box, or card line. Or maybe you created a support group in your area where there was a need for one. Or maybe you have a blog where you share your story and in doing so, give permission to other bereaved parents to grieve openly about the loss of their child.
Whatever it may be, I want to hear about it. As I am sure others want to hear your story too.
So here's what you do. Send me three to four paragraphs about your story of grief transformation. I want to know about your deep love for your child. I want to know how your child has motivated you to help others. I want to know when and how you knew you were ready to turn your pain and grief into something healing.
